Ignite South Africa goes where the people are.

Working in one of the highest areas of poverty where over 80% of the population earns less than $120/month, this is a necessity. People cannot afford to come to us. Simply speaking, it is a struggle for many to purchase electricity and food leaving transportation a luxury, so we must go to them.

Currently we have a bakkie (small pick up truck). It is a 2003 Mazda Drifter with over 500,000 km (310,685 miles) on it. It has served us well however, it needs to be replaced. It has been in the shop numerous times over the past few years. Yearly the transmission needs fixing as well as radiator repairs, brakes, and most currently the motor, the list is non-ending. We need a dependable vehicle.

The vehicle that we are desiring will serve multiple purposes:

→ Flashpoint: Delivery of books and supplies to the schools, some of which are rural and difficult to access.
→ General Ministry: Transport staff and supplies.
→ House of Hope: Transport both moms and their babies, when needed.
→ Missions: Transport teams as they volunteer their time to work with us in the field.

We are looking into something like this 2019 Isuzu D-Maxv 250 HO Hi-Rider 4x4 Double-Cab. This will meet our need for dependability and safety while allowing us to transport 4 people and supplies even to the most rural and treacherous locations.
