As the end of his life drew near King David spoke into the life of his son, Solomon.

He gave Solomon instructions in regards to the call in His life, to build God’s Temple. He concluded his instructions with these words;

Be strong and courageous, and do the work.
Don’t be afraid or discouraged for the Lord God, my God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly

(1 Chronicles 28:20)

The call God has placed in our life is no different; to build the Temple of the Lord, His dwelling place.  The role that each of us has in that call will differ, but we are all called to build.  To strengthen. To encourage.

To be His dwelling place, to be Christ to others.

So the words that David spoke to his son also apply to us.
We must be strong and courageous and do the work that we have been called to, and in doing so we must also remember God’s role in our calling. He will lead us, guide us and see to it that all the work is finished correctly as we follow after Him.

Remember, the results are not up to us they are God’s responsibility; our job is just to do the work.

So today I ask you, what has God called you to do?
What role has He given you to fulfil and, are you doing that work?
Don’t be afraid or discouraged, step out in faith and do it for the Lord God, my God is with you.
